Errors in Testing?
Can you have errors in testing? Yes, you can. The most common mistake is examinee not following simple instructions. Some other common errors are not being rested prior to testing, being in an emotional evoked state of mind. Sometimes the client or the requestor tries to put to many subjects in a test. A common error by putting to many targets in one test is that a client can lose focus and that can put him or her at risk for more errors. On a single issue polygraph the accuracy is approximately 90% so with every test there is a 10% chance of error. A method to reduce error is successive hurdles. This is where an examiner does two tests on the same subject matter or uses two different technologies gaging the same subject matter. No scientific method of testing is without error. At Clayton Polygraph we do our best to reduce possible errors in testing.
